We don't apply one fixed style to every project. Each space is shaped by the people who'll use it: how they move through a room, what they need it to do, what makes them feel at ease. A private home and a hotel lobby shouldn't come from the same formula.
What stays consistent is the process: understand the space, understand you, and only then decide on the materials, colors, and layout that make sense.
01
No signature style. Every project takes its shape from your specific needs, habits, and taste, not ours.
02
We like mixing materials, textures, and patterns rather than keeping things flat and safe, as long as it still feels intentional and whole.
03
Every space should feel connected to where it actually is: the climate, the light, the landscape around it.
01
Our most comprehensive offering. We manage the whole project, from the first architectural concept and spatial planning to the final placement of furniture.
02
For spaces that have the foundation but lack the soul. We focus on layering textures, patterns, and materials to bring character and comfort to the space.
03
A collaborative session for clients who want professional direction and material expertise, then carry out the work on their own.
First Margin Studio works on residential, hospitality, and commercial spaces, from private homes to cafes, restaurants, offices, and hotel lobbies, across Indonesia and internationally.
Every project starts the same way: by listening. We ask how the space will actually be used, whether that's how you live at home or how your guests move through a cafe, office, or lobby, not just what looks good in a photo, and build the design around that. The result is a space that fits its purpose instead of a trend.
We work closely with a small group of trusted collaborators for technical drawings and rendering, so every project gets the same level of attention, whether it's a single room or an entire property.
